Monday…I turned in my psychology paper (ADHD as a personality type). Grade posted, got an A for the class)
Thursday…took my Spanish exam (passed on the oral part since it was extra credit and not enough points to get me anywhere). Grade is not posted (yet) and I suspect I’ll get a B for the class (which is lower than the first time I took it – I got a B+ the first time but had a very light weight instructor. This time the instructor expected more, got more, I learned more and wrote more)
Friday…My surgery went well – they got me in really (really) early and I was home by noon. I had a couple of reactions that I didn’t expect: when the anesthesia went into the IV it really burned; enough so that I said something and that was the last thing I remember. When I woke up my head hurt so they gave me morphine (yes, for a headache, but it would also help prevent other pain). There was a little left of the anesthesia left in the line so I got the burning again, that stopped right away, but the morphine made my arm itch right up the vein. Later in the day I itched all over.
I have mild sleep apnea, so they thought they needed to intubate me; I have a little cut on my lip, my throat hurts and I have a bruises on my jawbone.
It think that it’s a really good thing (and I’m very thankful) that the worst after effects have nothing to do with the actual surgery. No pain in that regard! I’m not sure the surgery is going to help anything, but it will give us a better idea of the next step.
News from the family front…my mom and dad have their little mobile home in Florida up for sale. They want to move back to Punta Gorda / Charlotte Harbor area where they moved from. They had sold a house that had been in the family for a number of years, but will opt for another mobile home this time. I think they like the lower responsibility.
Saturday…rent a trailer and get a sofa from a friend, grocery shopping, mop floors. Maybe go visit Santa’s reindeer. Really.
Tonight…relax (maybe)
Tomorrow (hopefully) my sweetie arrives (flying through Chicago into Grand Rapids, weather may be an issue)
