Really. And I'm a little frustrated.

My daughter and I are taking a Bible Greek class through the local home school association and languages are evidently not my gift. Last fall I got my lowest grade ever in Spanish and Greek isn't any better. Who thought up the idea of needing 20 ways to say "the"? I'd way rather be taking probability and statistics. Most things come pretty easily to me and to have to work at something - it took me by surprise.

Anyway - languages do seem to be Manda's thing - she's doing really well and I'm very proud of her! I'm encouraging her to take Spanish (Greek will have to wait until she transfers to a four-year institution) and keep up with languages.

When my kids were little I worked for a little while for a historic neighborhood association. One day I was driving around (long story, but I was doing my job) a block where a little house had been torn down. That was the first time I noticed "that" house. It had been empty for years, it was boarded up, siding was missing, as was part of the roof.

My kids are growing up - one went one way, the other went another way. I like fireworks, but not alone, so I stayed home and relaxed. It worked out - Tom called me from the rain (that's why we all have cell phones...) and I went and picked him up.

Nancy (my sister) found two more lumps in her mouth, after having the cancer removed last year. The doctor said that he wasn't so much worried about the lumps as the fact that the cancer site still had not healed. She's going for an MRI next week.

Totallly screwed my diet today (gotta love those oreos), need to go right back on Atkins tomorrow.

We seem to be getting along really well. Tom is really enjoying his grill that Phil got him for graduation - today it was brats for lunch, chicken breasts (and steak for Tom) for dinner. Tomorrow, a pork loin is planned.

Tom has a job interview on Wednesday with DK security. Amanda is waiting to hear from Claire's. The "sick freak" is looking forward to piercing ears.

Amanda has John 1:1 memorized (in Greek). Tom needs to be beaten with a motivation club.
