My weight is still stalled, even though I've been sticking closer to the weight watchers plan than I was when I was losing weight really well...
but...(drumroll)
Today I walked my 100,000th step for the year. (yes, I am rather fanatical about wearing a pedometer)
Tomorrow, I'm going to start going through itunes and picking out some good workout music (because I'm a student at the college, I have full access to all of the fitness areas). Tomorrow I'm going to try the elliptical trainer...

Wow - 100,000 steps for the year - it is only the 17th of January. Way to go, girl.

Hi Ellen,
I've been looking at pedometers online. What brand do you use/recommend and how fancy does it really need to be? I don't want to take out a loan to buy one, so anything I get will have to be $50 or less, preferably around $25.
I am very curious to see how many steps I average in a day. I am hoping to be amazed at how many there are rather than the other way around! ; )

Keep it up!--- it's hard work- but totally worth it- I like the ellipitical machines- more calories burned for the time spent- but we have a bike, at home- which I'm using (husband's preference)
I love to listen to podcasts when I work out- and audiobooks- itunes is my friend;)

My favorite pedometer that I've ever had was the free one that came with the McDonald's salad meal (along with bottled water and a workout dvd) a couple of years ago.
I have a tendancy to lose them off of my waist band - the one I have now I got at MC Sports - It's a Sportline with a little chain and a clip on it so you can attach it to your clothes.
The biggest drawback is that all of my pants are different and I need to check it every day to make sure it's counting right. Today it was hard to get it to count steps at all - I ended up clipping it to my shoelace. It's hard to get to 170,000 steps in a month if your pedometer doesn't count the steps.
The one I have was around $20.00.
I have heard a lot of good things about the Omron HJ112. It's supposed to be so accurate that you can carry it in your purse or pocket and it will catch your steps, as well as track your every steps, plus a separate count for "aerobic steps" - those walked for 10 minutes at a time.
The price is good also.

They have the Omron HJ112 at CVS pharmacy. They wanted $39.99 for it I think. So, it would be much cheaper to purchase it online. I am thinking of getting one.
